Approximately 2,400 square feet (approximately 223 square meters );
The mother and her two sons have been living in this beautiful downtown Toronto for many years.
When she finds the final location in a lovely park nearby, she doesn\'t care about the shape of the house.
It is certainly vital not to care about the shape of the house.
\"This is basically a disassembly.
\"It has not been in contact for years and the shape is very rough,\" Interior designer Shirley Meisels said . \".
Instead of dismantling, the two women cooperated in a renovation.
\"She was one of my first clients and we have been working together for many years,\" Meisels said . \".
\"There\'s a lot of trust and comfort there, and I know how she feels.
She pushed me, I pushed her.
\"The style is clean --
Lined and modern with funky, quirky touches throughout.
The kitchen showcases the style that Meisels and her clients have developed together over the years: graphic black and white, with warm wood and some influential touches.
Like a black powder.
The coated metal fume hood makes a simple but very powerful geometric statement and gives the eye a place to rest.
It\'s like avoiding the upper cabinets in exchange for open shelves, space for hanging artwork, and a quartz rock High tailgate that matches the countertop.
Like the wonderful industrial lights on the island. It’s a 60-inch-
The long metal tube is interrupted by a hole to make the LED light shine on the island. For the eat-
In the kitchen area, Meisels integrates the medieval modern Tulip tables and shell chairs that her clients already have.
She then covered it with a flash of a spherical copper lamp.
\"While she is entertaining a lot, she doesn\'t do it very formally,\" Meisels said of her clients . \".
\"She wants the layout of the living room to be conversational, with lots of casual options around her huge coffee table.
\"The soft carpet and throw Mat make it comfortable and easy to gather around the table on the floor to eat or play board games.
The homeowner has been collecting artwork for years, and Meisels has helped her place artwork throughout the house.
This thick wall provides a good separation and connection balance between the kitchen and the family room.
On the left is the media equipment and TV in the family room.
On the other side it can accommodate additional kitchen cabinets and broom closets.
It also hides the pipeline and power infrastructure as well as the beams.
The special seating position is a funky quirk in this space.
Outlined in Walnut, both rooms are available.
\"She doesn\'t want it to be a typical restaurant on the right, the living room on the left, open the front door and walk straight into the stairwell,\" Meisels said . \".
Therefore, the designer created an entrance hall with a corridor behind it.
Now, when people enter, they can enjoy some of the homeowner\'s favorite artwork, and they have a landing area.
Formal restaurant on the right.
But of course the owner will not do formal things.
So her sons use the room more often.
Because the new floor plan is too open meisels install pocket doors around the restaurant so that the doors can be closed when boys have tutoring classes or need a quiet place to do their homework.
The wallpaper in the restaurant is ombré.
\"We like to do darkness on top of darkness,\" Meisels said . \".
Modern Danish furniture and light oak flooring offer warmth to the room.
The master bedroom is part of the house and part of it is original.
So there is an awkward moment in the ceiling where the new higher arched ceiling meets the low original ceiling, which does not work well with the headboard.
Instead, Meisels cheats the eyes and brings them together by adding this black figureand-white diagonal.
As already mentioned, when the two of them work together, they like the darknesson-dark.
When talking about bedding, carpets and bedside tables, the designer said: \"Black is very sexy and intimate with charcoal fire . \".
Black and White, heated by more Walnut, also ruled in the main bathroom.
The large size Black hexagonal tiles add geometry to the walls and thick lines to the bathtub and sink.
One of the owners must-
Haves is a comfortable bathtub.
Meisels created a damp room by putting the shower in the same area (steps-
Area inside the bathroom.
\"I really tend to put tiles in the bathroom recently because I found it better than a lot of natural materials over time,\" the designer said . \".
Although the floor tile looks like lime China, it is digital-printed porcelain.
Her quirky feeling here is the addition of marble to the wall niches.
\"I had a good time playing with different materials, not so mature --
Mature all the time.
It\'s good to throw something strange, \"she said.
